The traditional sliding sash window is a box section sliding sash, hung on lead weights. These are generally supplied to refurbishment projects on listed buildings where conservation is a priority. On many of the contracts we manufacture to the existing structural openings, replicating the original design while still incorporating modern technology to eliminate wind, rain and sound penetration.
Modern sliding sash windows can be installed on older buildings where heritage and conservation are less of an issue or on newer buildings to provide a Georgian, Victorian or Edwardian appeal to the character. Sashes are hung on spiral balances, which can be tensioned to different glazing weights and fully weather sealed for performance.
