Listed buildings grades 1 & 2 and buildings in conservation areas form what we term conservation joinery. With an emphasis on traditional craftsmanship and utilising our specialist conservation experience, we are able to ensure that the joinery complies with stringent building regulations whilst protecting the essential architectural characteristics. Typical projects have been old hospitals, schools and mills.
High quality architectural and general joinery are key to the external appearance of a property irrespective of whether it is a traditional historical building or a modern high tech creation. The design and finish of our bespoke manufactured doors and windows have won us many plaudits across the UK over the past decade. From curved windows to gothic arches and through to French, Angled and Arched doors our commitment to quality and satisfying the individual requirements of the client has resulted in our products being utilised in a huge variety of buildings.
Of crucial importance for any refurbishment joinery undertaken is that it is designed to be sympathetic to the building heritage. The benefits of modern working joinery while retaining the original appearance are self evident. Our wide ranging works have encompassed schools, mills and churches and included prestigious clients such as the National Trust.
This includes any moulding such as architrave, coving, skirting, picture and dado rails.
Timber is becoming the preferred choice for more and more new build projects. Apart from the aesthetic benefits timber has many additional advantages:
• Environmental benefits : According to Greenpeace timber is " by far the most environmentally friendly material for windows". It takes eight times more energy to manufacture UPVC than timber, disposal is easier and all our product is sourced from renewable and sustainable sources.
• Longevity : Scientific tests have demonstrated that timber windows are outstanding for long term weather proofing and do not easily distort through temperature or exposure extremes.
• Maintenance : relatively simple, modern factory applied timber coatings will normally last ten years, Recoating is simple. Damaged sections are easily repaired rather than needing replacement.
